25th February 2007 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: NW Wind Stength: 10-15 knots Surf / Sea State: 2-3 foot surf Air Temperature: 9ºC Sea Temperature: 9ºC Weather: Cloudy Max Speed: 18.2 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 3.1 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Just not enough wind to cope with the waves. Went out with Impi and rigged my 6.7m sail and biggest board (a very old 95ltr Sputnik) with a 36cm fin... But even that wasn't enough to get me going. Impi was struggling with his 7m and 106ltr board too. Had a couple of runs followed by a walk up wind, then stood around watching for wind before trying one last go. This time I did manage to get planing properly and even made it out the back eventually. I may even have gained some ground upwind whilst out the back, but as soon as i turned a round I caught one wave and had no choice but to ride it all the way in loosing loads of ground in the process and resulting in another long walk back upwind. Grrrrr... Some days just aren't meant to be. Another 10 knots would have been nice! |
